Write up for today

The more you run away, I will chase you,
The more you hate, I will trouble myself
The more you trust, I will die for you
The more you understand, I will always support you
The more you care my emotions, I give you everything
The more I expect, I tend to cry and
The more I miss you, is all because I love you...........

eArTh dAY - 2010

Today is Earth Day. The day of the planet, which should be celebration day for everyone. Earth Day is a day designed to inspire awareness and appreciation for the Earth's environment and it is observed by more than 500 million people and several national governments in 175 countries. It was founded by U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson.

As I was on the way to work, was listening to FM 94.3, the show aired by RJ. Prithvi. He had put for the contest as “What would be your contribution to the Earth Day”. In this show, I found an elderly lady answering that, she would ask her children not to reproduce. For a moment, I started thinking would this be the right way, wherein we would be hampering the Eco-system.I feel, we should "Restore the resources”, “Reduce the usage of exhaustible resources”, “Recycle the biodegradable products”, “Reuse the usable things”

Royal Challengers Bangalore VS Kings XI Punjab

It was a good day yesterday. It was a festive and the family meets for the lunch. At the same time, had the tickets for IPL Match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kings XI Punjab at Chinnaswamy Stadium. Hence had to rush and friends were waiting. This was the first time I had watched the match live in the stadium. It was a good time and found sometime for myself in the busy schedules. I was so excited to watch RCB, as I was in support to it. Finally it ended well, where RCB Won.

Why Me to Why Not Me

Saturday ended well as I got to speak to my friend. It was a good feeling to open up to the dear ones. I really felt relaxed and now I know at least someone is there to with whom I can always go back and talk without thinking twice. We had been to Coffee day, my favorite hangout all the time. We started up with a tropical iceberg and then I vented up on him with all recent happenings at my side. Well need to thank to his patience level as he was listening to me without a tint of ignorant on face, which I really felt good.

As the talks went on I realized that I have transformed from “WHY ONLY ME” to “WHY NOT ME” state of mind. I felt that I have been assigned this task which means as I can deliver or I am capable of doing it. I got a morale support which I was thirst of.. It is always good time to spend with friends as you feel relaxed. Finally for that day at least all went on well with a smile on my face which I felt “aLL iS wElL”

Flashback

I had logged into one of the old email account, then noticed in the drafts, a forward mail which i had kept for reference... It reads as:

One day I decided to quit...I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality... I wanted to quit my life.

I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

"God", I said. "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?" His answer surprised me...

"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

"Yes", I replied.

"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them. I gave them light. I gave them water. The fern quickly grew from the earth. Its brilliant green covered the floor. Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful. And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo." He said.

"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed. But I would not quit.

In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo see. I would not quit." He said.

"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive. I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."

He said to me.

"Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots?"

"I would not quit on the bamboo. I will never quit on you."

"Don't compare yourself to others." He said. "The bamboo had a different purpose than the fern. Yet they both make the forest beautiful."

"Your time will come", God said to me. "You will rise high"

"How high should I rise?" I asked.

"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.

"As high as it can?" I questioned

"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."

I left the forest and bring back this story. I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.

HE will never give up on you!

Stay Blessed

About Myself - Company's Newsletter

Interviewing the Interviewer

This month, we decided to know a little more about the person who would have interviewed most of us. Yes. I am talking about Daffodil. She is the person who is handling the roles of a recruitment specialist and at the same time shouldering responsibilities of a HR generalist.

Tell us something about yourself.

To this, Daffodil became reluctant and after a while, gave a sneak preview to her career. She looked back in time and remembered the early days when she had joined IIHT. It's been 1.4 years now and she mentions that this journey has been quite experiential.

Tell us about your experience at IIHT

Daffodil mentioned that she has a total of 4.8 years of experience out of which 1.4 years have been spent being associated with IIHT. Prior to this, she was handling IT recruitment for Thomson Reuters. She mentions that IIHT has been very proactive in understanding her potential and she was handling the roles of a HR generalist in no time. This was apart from her key result area of being a recruitment specialist. She mentions that this journey at IIHT has been a great learning for her and wishes to continue to provide support to the organization and learn from it at the same time.

What are you looking forward to at IIHT?
To this, she mentions that the great thing about IIHT is that the organization treats everyone equally and there is no discrimination between a fresh hire and a veteran. She wishes to put in place some recognition program wherein the employees are recognized on various grounds for the wonderful job that they have been doing. She mentions that this is a great way to boost employee motivation and enhance their
morale.

What do you do in your free time?
Daffodil mentions that she barely manages to find some free time. But when she does, she spends it talking to her friends and derives great joy out of it. Though not an avid reader, she still manages to take some time out and read books

Discussion

I was supposing to handover a offer letter to the person for the role of Manager – Legal. So I dropped in one of the discussion room and gave the letter. In meanwhile I was inquisitive to know the laws as he comes with 28 years of experience in different laws like Labor, Criminal, Companies, Consumer etc.

So I threw few questions for which he started answering wherein the process of knowledge sharing started. I felt too good as it was long time I has such conversations as most of the time I end up in speaking of not much use. Some of the points where really impressive, that was said by him. Below are few which you might also like:

1. The situation where one of the disciple of Plato asked to Plato, “What is the meaning of the word “Justice”? The answer given was “It is what is due”. This context applies in all situations where the word “Justice” is used.
2. The conversation between the Ex – President of Australia while climbing down the stairs from some meeting and the other person in the crowd said, “You are fallen”, for which the President replied: “It was a slip”. The is a vast difference between “Fall” (Completely Lost) and “Slip” (One has just missed it”. It really inspired me.
3. He quoted some words saying “There is a hidden man in each person, which needs to be awaken, aroused” for which, I feel that’s where one lacks.
4. He also referred even an idiot has some skill which normal man cannot understand. I feel for that idiot, we are idiots as we are unable to understand what is conveyed.
5. One more important line was “Success can be achieved by two kinds of People, one with born intelligence and the other with hardship” where 2% of them are born intelligence and 20% with hardship would reach the sky.
6. The bottom line was “ There should be fire in the belly to go up, without which nothing can be achieved”.
