Recession

Recession has hit many sectors and has created a worst scenario. Recently I got to watch a programme on one of the news channels, which was broadcasting about the people who have come up together to fight towards it by joining hands. It is all about the union of people who have been sacked from the organisations for different reasons. It’s a programme where in they are trying to reach the fellow beings who have undergone the similar trauma.

I became inquisitive about the approach that they carry with them, to overcome it. It was a forum to share ideas, about networking, to get to know the different ways of coming out, sharing about the vacancies etc. One of the don’ts was to cry for help. As this forum believes in motivating, rather than catering to their problems.

Actually, I see recession, in a way has helped all. It has made everyone stronger to act to it. It has helped to identify the hidden traits and bring to the surface, which has given genesis to entrepreneurs, who are doing excellence. It has be able to skim the highly motivated from the rest, who really have aspirations to take themselves to the heights.

I have been meeting a lot of people in the process of hiring. I got to hear, the actual facts, why they have been laid off. It’s not only because the organization is exposed to recession, but to take out the white elephants as well. It is one the way the organization is looking forward to keep the potential employees, who can reach up the ladder by filling the positions with the existing capabilities with process of continuous development. It is also trying to with hold the quality people, who are open to shoulder the responsibilities leading to succession planning.

I would say, it has got both pros and cons, but never the late, there should be a way out for everything. But I see, things falling into place gradually, still there are lot of job vacancies coming up but with less pays. But the paradox of younger generation is to see huge packages rather than getting into profiles available or the opportunity that is knocking their doors, which would surely mould their career down the line.
